No Hot Water? Let’s Figure It Out Together
If your hot water’s packed it in, don’t stress — here’s a quick guide to help you work out what’s going wrong before you give us a call.
Step 1: Are You Getting Water at All?
✅ Water comes out but it’s cold = heating problem
❌ No water comes out of the hot tap = blockage or valve issue
💡 Tip: Check multiple taps — is it just one tap or all of them?
Step 2: What Type of Hot Water System Do You Have?
🔥 Gas Storage — Tall round or square tank outside with a small viewing window near the bottom.
⚡ Electric Storage — Similar round tank but no flame window, usually wired to your switchboard.
🌤️ Solar Hot Water — Solar panels on the roof with either a ground or roof tank.
💨 Gas Instant/Continuous Flow — Small box on the wall that clicks on when you open a hot tap.
🌬️ Heat Pump — Looks like a tall tank with a fan on or beside it, like an aircon unit.
